
Gillian is a highly experienced and qualified counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who qualified in 2013. Working within a private practice for over 8 years, she works ethically within the framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, of which she is a fully registered member. Passionate about mental health, Gillian has over 15 years experience working within a counselling setting.
Gillian covers a number of areas such as low self-esteem, depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation’ stress and anxiety; sexual trauma including rape and historic abuse; PTSD; work and/or school related issues as well as bereavement.
With a humanistic approach, she is extremely client focused, whilst she promotes integrative counselling including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT, specifically tailored to suit the individual needs of her clients. She offers a professional and confidential space in which her clients can explore and understand the root to their problems, helping them to process difficult and string emotions whilst assisting them to break the cycle of negative thinking and subsequent behaviours. Gillian can offer both short and long-term therapy, according to the specific needs and requirements of her clients.
